1. in what area is critique to be sought?
whether there is an improvement from my previous 'light light' (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1314331)

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
I hope to highlight the lights of the bay of clarke quay by defocusing and show the bokeh of the night lights

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
I was walking around clarke quay at night and was carrying my camera so I tried to do this again. This time I was having a better lens and I focused on the bridge to produce the bokeh of the bay/boats cos the lights were really pretty and colourful.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
Ok only la I wanted bokeh to be better but idk how so put here ask for critique

Bokeh is the quality of the out of focus blur. it is inherent to each lens. there is no technical skill or creative vision required to produce good bokeh but the right gear only.

Good to see the effort put in since the last post :) The background out of focus highlights (I guess this is what your are referring to as 'bokeh'...) are more colourful and spread out this time.

What are your thoughts regarding the rivets (hope this is the correct term) on the railing that are in focus?

I asked about the rivets as what catches the eye are usually the sharp areas of a photo. Here the rivets caught my eye, however I am thinking how it relates to the background...

You might want to go out and try your technique with the Christmas lights at the many locations in S'pore, there are many excellent examples over the net, one recent one I remember was from mod wonglp:
