Is there any life span for ccd sensor on Dslr or digi if yes how long or how many shot etc etc

From what I've read online (try Google), they last for well, very long. By the time it actually fails, most of the mechanical parts would have worn already. So for dSLRs you should be worried about the shutter count as its a mechanical unit that flips up/down each time you take a shot, its dependent on which model/type of camera (e.g. pro bodies tend to have a higher threshold).

before the lifespan of the camera is up, you would likely have upgraded to a newer model or go for the pro series, the way that manufacturers are coming out with new models....

Canon 350D - 50,000 = 0.015 CENTS A SHOT Based on price $789.00US
Canon 20D - 100,000 = 0.013 CENTS A SHOT Based on price $1300.00US

Lifted these off somewhere, but I guess its a conservative number. There are plenty of people with well over 50K shots on their 300Ds and still no shutter problems.

IIRC, D70/D70s is 50,000-60,000
D50 should be 30,000 to 35,000

These are from my memory...

I know of someone who has a unchanged shutter from a D100 that has more than 150,000 shots :bigeyes:

thank for the information, that mean digi cam will had longer lift span compare to DSLR (NO other mechanical movement other than shutter) am i right. Another question is how long the camera and lense are allow to left outside dry cabinet example on holiday or company oversea assignment, thank you if anybody can answer this question.

Not exactly. If you're talking about the sensor, I would say both would last the same, just that on dSLRs you would need to change the shutter since its mechanical whereas the shutter on normal digital cameras are electronic.

You can leave it outside your dry cabinet as long as you take it for a spin once in a while outside. If you're worried just bring along a ziplock bag and throw it in with some silica gel in a film canister with some holes.
