Is it possible to use an old metz 45 ct-1 on a pentax K-r?

So I have the old hammer flash and would like to use it on a K-r, the metz flash uses a PC sync so I would need a hot shoe adapted right? But I'm worried bout problems voltage as I tried to readup online to no avail due yo my limited knowledge, reading the manual of the old flash doesn't help as it was written in the pre digital era
