Who will want to deliberately kidnap them with prior intention? :bsmilie:

Haha..makcik was a Singapore TV presenter..

• Why were the criminals so heavily armed for such a small-time robbery?

• How come the JB police have not got a clue that there were such heavily armed gangs roaming around JB?

• Compared to other similar cases, how come this case was solved within only 3 days?

• Kidnapping + asking for ransom seems to be a crime that attracts mandatory death penalty in MLY. So maybe that is why the JB police don't want to call it kidnapping.

• On the TV segment, JB police say that no visitor or nationality is targeted by criminals. They may be concerned that tourism and/or investment in the Iskandar project will be affected by this case and similar crimes.

• Unfortunately for the criminals, this crime was committed along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak - a road named after the father of the current Prime Minister. This may have embarrassed the MLY PM and the JB police chief had to do something fast to solve the case.

its not carjacking. Carjacking take car and leave often if passengers are there drop them off a bit away from scene of crime. asking to get money while keeping a loved one at gun/knife point is hostage situation. and akin to kidnapping . holding against will.

You mean they should have committed the crime in Jalan Mas Selamat instead? :bsmilie:

Ironically, the victim was not selamat (safe) lol

Repair the damage done by this crime. To reassure that JB is a place you can visit as a tourist or invest in as a business or buy property.
The damage control team went into over-drive and immediately came out with new front page article - the very next day 8 July 2012.

Singaporean just never learn the lesson, it's best not to go there unless it's for important stuff. Shopping, Makan and petro is not worth your life to dying for.
