At photo lab, the recommended minimum resolution for this kind of bigger size photo is about 150 PPI (pixel per inch).

So s8R (12" x 8") would require a minimum of 1800 x 1200.

Of course you can print at lower PPI if you're printing at home and the picture is viewed further away than normal reading distance.
