If I'm importing something from overseas and the GST was declared over there, will the customs here charge GST again? will they know if GST had be paid?

Think they will charge the 5% if it exceeds S$500 in value.

Usually if you had declared GST, there is a Permit #.
With the permit #, i don't think u need to pay any more GST.

$400 including total shipping + insurance!

eg. if the invoice is $350 and your shipping cost is $50, u have to pay GST of $400 * 5% = $20!
