Image Stabilizer on EOS 30/33

I was reading the manual of eos 30/33 and i noticed on function 13, the value of 5 is set to "start image stabilizer." What is this for?

Do i need to set this also on the camera or just enable IS on the lens?

Is there any site on detailed function settings of eos 30/33?
