iMac G5 17" Harddisk upgrading help..

Hi guys,

I am using the first revision iMac G5 17". The very first model to launch in the iMac G5 range few years ago.

May I know which type of harddisk (ATA/SATA) is it using? I'm planning to upgrade the current 80GB to a much larger drive such as 500GB...

Any advices are appreciated. Thanks!

You might want to consider using a external harddisk instead.

Seems to be SATA.

Mine's SATA, very easy to change, but must get the right screw driver (forgot the name).

You should create a clone of the database beforehand, which would be easy if you have an external casing. There are some free software to do this.
