U people are really good at sarcasm =.= haha

Lytro is also producing only 640 pixels images at the moment. The technology is still very very far off.

for now. :)
technology catches up damn fast. too damn fast it sometimes scares the **** out of me.

Socrates once said, "The more I learn, the more I learn how little I know."

Likewise, the inverse is true. Fools who have lots of opinion in this world are usually out of my circle. Annoying people, just ignore them.

This is also why some wedding couples look for cheap wedding photographers because they believe taking photos is just pressing the shutter nia

lol. so true.. irregardless of the cost of the photographer, there is normally only 1 outcome for the albums and that is some ulu place hidden forever, or taken out once a decade to admire..

chill....let your photos do the talking :)

Not for lightfield technology it ain't...
If you actually understand the technology, you will understand that it's biggest problem is resolution. To increase resolution, the microlens design will become exponentially complex. So far, to that Ren Ng can only say that "most people throw 90-95% of the pixels away anyway when posting online". That doesn't sound remotely like any other breakthrough in resolution is coming our way in a while.

BTW lightfield photography is first proposed in 1908. and the current design (using micro-lenses) is actually first introduced in 1992. Not a timeline I would call damn fast.

And lightfield technology only gives you ability to choose focus after the shot for now. 3D imaging for the commercially viable market is still extremely far off. And nothing so far can solve the expose or compose later issues.

Normally i will just smile and let live. Why bother to teach them so much.

Just smile and let them be lah. I don't see a need to educate the ignorant.

Actually, that teenage reaction is quite normal. When a person is not into a particular interest, it is very difficult to appreciate, especially art. A sea is a sea, that is how they see it.

For example, if you ask me to listen to some musical orchestra, I don't think I know how to tell the difference.

However, when you are not sure, you got to be careful with your approach so as not to offend people. Be happy.

That's fine. But using your example: would you listen to the orchestra and then claim that you can do the same easily at home with your computer, a soundcard and some software?

i think that we're all given the responsibility to teach and respond with graciousness when met with such situations.

else, we'll be just be letting the world believe that their viewpoint holds water.

as the saying goes, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

so are you saying that we should let people carry on with their ignorance, or show them that there's something out there worth understanding?

My friends always call me crazy for bringing my camera and tripod, claiming that they can do better with their phones.

Sometimes I'll tell them the difference, sometimes I just smile at them.

Also, sometimes its good to know a little of everything, so you won't offend people with your choice of words. I learnt that the hard way.
