They are a quality CPL, colour neutral and have no Vignetting problems with a 70-200mm lens. It will vignette with the 17-35/2.8. If you want a CPL for both wide and tele-zoom lenses go for the ultr-thin offering from Hoya.

Thanks Ian.

But the Hoya ultra-thin type can't mount the lens cap :(

I was adviced to go for as thin as possible to reduce/avoid any possible vignetting...

Loosing the ability to mount a lens cap is something that I've never worried about with CPL's.

The thin as possible advice applies more for lenses shorter than 50mm. Most any modern CPL will not vignette with a 70mm or longer lens.

I've not had problems with the Nikon CIR-PL II on WAs, the ability to cap the len cap is still possible.

Have used it on a 17-35 on F80, no vignetting at 17mm.

Ya the CPL-II is really thin, just as thin as other UV filters. And besides i think it will not be alot more expensive than the SHMC Pro 1 CPL you mentioned.

Is CPL-II that you guys mentioned the same as the Hoya Ultra-thin CP filter ?

I will also be using the CP on my Nikon 12-24mm lens.

Thanks for the help.

No, it is the Nikon Brand CPL-II.
