How to use IR filter

I just bought a IR filter but seems that its only showing black screen with Nightshot turned on...
anyone have any experience on getting it to work?

finally got it to work...
it gotta work with sunlight.
just took a nice shot of the clouds over my window.

going to apply for a pbase & post it up for ya guys.

even with -2.0 to +2.0 exposure the lens still works. just the contrast difference.

DSC00025.jpg is taken with only the IR filter

the rest is taken with B&W UV filter & also the IR filter.

all shots taken without tripod cos my tripod gone missing in action.

actually is there a diff between using infra red films or filters?

never use those before...

btw would like to try the lower index kinda filters... anybody have 1 for sale?
those cheaper kind. i think 72 or something.

The IR filter will give "vegetation" a whitish look

Try taking in B&W and compare the vegetation wif B&W wif IR filter on =)

I usually take in colour then covert to B&W then colour it in sepia as i like the sepia effect =)

roon i see u have the Hoya R72. where u get it? & how much?

got another question...
if i set my shutter speed to 1000 how come its having the same effect as using the IR filter? i can't see a thing in the room but can focus under sunlight.
