hallo hallo all,

just got some random questions to ask:

1. what does HMC UV mean? why does HMC cost more than the normal UV filter?
2. what does TTL stand for exactly? i got a SB-800, read the manual, but still got no idea what does TTL and i-TTL mean. i know what it does, but how do you define it? haha.

thanks all!

regards,
jizeng

hmc - hoya multi coat
ttl - through the lens.

iTTL is designed for digital cameras.

It uses pre-flashes to determine the proper exposure of the subject with TTL metering.

IIRC, iTTL for Nikon, eTTL for Canon.

Arto.
