i think heavy cam bodies wobble less when the shutter is clicked. being heavy 1/4 of a sec is a long time, good for u. filters... i used to use them but not anymore, too lazy. these days i just snap & go. my tripod is collecting rust & dust. lol. :sweat:

Yes! It's less wobbly. But it still find it hard to improve to 1/2 of a second!

i think most do that cos it can be an expensive hobby, in this digital age, there seems to be more gadgets & software to buy?

i have stopped getting more gadgets, i should instead use them. & not buy for buying's sake.

But anyway, why is it that the dry cabinet is a must?
I leave my D1x on my table perpetually for the past 3 months.. It has no fungus or dust at all.

I never put anything inside.. hehe!

i cant imagine all those precious equipement going to waste cos i din protect them from fungus.

D1x has water droplet resistant seals around compartment doors and deep rubber insets covering terminals and connectors... but never 1 can never tell when the mould starts to grow.

Fungus grows best in humid, dark places with still air. So actually if you bring it out to shoot and expose it to light here and there fungus is hard to grow. But if you are storing it for long, keep in a dry cabinet as it at least control the last condition for it to grow which is humidity.

My room's temperature is controlled.
Does not come into contact with air outside unless the ventilator is turned on.
Would there be any problems still?
Would you reccommend me to still put the camera in the dry box?

being weather sealed keeps moisture out, so it helps. but keeping both lenses & body in a dry cam just makes sense to go 1 step further keeping mould at bay.

i would recommend keeping both lenses & body in a dry box/cabinet. my room temperature always goes haywire! :bsmilie:

good for u & ur gears!
any gear after servicing will never (or rarely) be as good as it was before. i hold the opinion manufacturing facilities are way cleaner than repair premises. staff in such manufacturing facility wear the "bunny" suit & go through a (air) jet "bath" in closed cubicle to minimise dust going into the products. lenses & camera bodies being 1 of such a product.
think clean-room being dust free. i highly doubt repair facilities are that clean.
