Help with combination of lens and camera

Hi, I'm an extreme noob who just stepped into the game. And my question is: Is it posible to put the Minolta 50mm f1.7 MD on the Nikon D40? Thanks

If the lens is Nikon mount,of course you can.If its Sony mount,you need to get an adaptor...

It's a Minolta 50mm f1.7 MD Rokkor Lens (from all I can read on Ebay)

I remember that sometime back, there are a few that sell the adapter in this forum.
