Hi, I'm an extreme noob who just stepped into the game. And my question is: Is it posible to put the Minolta 50mm f1.7 MD on the Nikon D40? Thanks

If the lens is Nikon mount,of course you can.If its Sony mount, you need to get an adaptor...

I don't remember a 50mm f/1.7 MD lens. Are you referring to the Maxxum AF lens, or the 55mm f/1.7 MD?

It's a Minolta 50mm f1.7 MD Rokkor Lens (from all I can read on Ebay)

Can you post the link? Is there a picture of the lens?

Can see Here or Here. It is reviewed by Ken Rockwell as a "very, very good lens"

Oh neat, I didn't remember a 50mm. Looks like a decent lens, but you'll pay more for an adapter than the lens. ;)

How much for the adapter? I'm considering between this and a Nikon AF 50mm f1.8D (which is 150$ used)

Check on Ebay. "Minolta Md to Nikon"
