hi all.just bought a Tamron 90mm macro lens.
but i found that i have to go very close to get a good close up shot of the subject.
isn;t the lens supposed to give me greater working distance from the subject?
i have to go 4-5 cm to get a close up shot.
is it normal or is there something wrong with the lens?
thanks.:(

Yes its normal, the minimum focusing distance of the lens is 29cm and the minimum working distance is around 10cm, which might seem a lot shorter to you than it really is, that's why you said its 4-5cm. If you need a larger working distance, maybe you can consider the Tamron 180mm macro.

Other than getting a 180mm macro lens you may also consider getting a 1.4TC or 2.0TC to get longer working distance.

thanks guys for the help.thought i got a dud lens.
