HELP: How to create cool BBT intro?

Dear clubsnappers,
I was looking at the Big Bang Theory introduction and would love to start trying out some more creative editing.
Here it is:

Could u point me in the right direction as to how to overlay that scrolling timeline across the screen? I would like to try incorporating that into my next video project.

Create a PNG graphic with transparent background in Photoshop. Make the width longer than your video canvas. Import into whatever NLE you're using and keyframe the graphic to move. You can adjust the opacity either in PS or your NLE. If your NLE does not support PNG/PSD layer, you can create an alpha channel matte in PS, put the matte between the base layer and the graphic and paste the keyframe of the graphic layer on it.
