Now that's its Pentax / Ricoh, here's one...

This thread's been a little quiet lately so i thought i'd add something. This is my 1st roll of Ektar 100. I took it along with a Pentax SF1 (Pentax's 1st AF SLR) with a F 28-80mm 3.5-4.5 on it. A cheap combo so i didn't mind risking it by taking it on a golf course in Batam (where it can rain anytime).

I kinda "freewheeled" with this roll of film, just allowing the camera to work out exposure and just basically AF'd and shot it like on AE-priority mode.

Exposed for the sky. The SF1 has a "ML" or exposure lock button, which is useful. Was hoping to catch the faint rays of sunlight but not too successful.

I've shared this in the MF section, but I think its worth sharing here to show what MF scanning at better resolutions can give.
Do check out the larger sample.
(I had actually uploaded a 4233p version, but flicker downsized it )

I've always wanted to try this out, but did not have a chance since I did not have a way to guide the DSLR along a fixed track to do the copy from film to DSLR.
So incidentally, I got a set of 2 macro sliders off ebay for my macro stuff and I jumped on the chance to do this experiment.

There is also this experiment done by another CSer (and coincidentally another Pentaxian :) )

This is a stitch or 9 frames done using a K5+100mm macro, shot at f8 in RAW.
The image was then converted to JPEG and stitched in Photoshop elements using the Panostitch function.
This was followed by color invert and other typical film to digital adjustments (eg. color correction, level, sharpen)

The original file was a stitch of 9 images using a K5 and 100mm macro.
Original file was 40MB.
8466x7053.

This is a 1024 version

If you want to see the quality, I have left a larger file here, but too bad flickr only allows me up to 1706 x 2048.

Digging thru some old ones on a moody thursday....

I didn't read the exposure. I just set the super program to flash mode (1/125) and set aperture to f8 or f11, let the TTL flash do the rest ;)
