Housemate was telling me how she ran into some kids who have never developed film before (as in send to photo lab)... only shoot digital... Boy I feel old.
Have you met folks who don't never use film before?

i only recently start using film for fun on my toy camera
very expensive leh, the developing
digital just pay one fee then shoot shoot shoot
Never used film here. First camera was a digital bridge, just switched to DSLR. I don't think I regret that, I have taken almost ten thousand pictures with my bridge already and I wouldn't be able to take a tenth of that if I had to pay for every shot (not to mention storage, I can find hundreds of pics in a tiny memory card...). I don't know about quality, but digital made photo a possible hobby for a lot of people money-wise.
My bro-in-law started shooting weddings, products, events from digital..

OT ps: anyone knows where to develop 110 colour shots? my kaki asking, coz lab only does b&w

Uh... that was 7 years ago.
8 - 9 years ago I used the very first generation of digital cameras - which outputted 640 x 480 and had a 1.44 floppy drive integrated into them in army. Those were the days.

I started using digital in 1997 and never used film other than a disposable film camera. When I became a freelancer, i encountered one lady who came up to me and said, "cameraman, cameraman", Can u help me to load the film? I told her I am sorry cause I have never loaded a film before. Kind of :embrass:
dang. that's pretty embarrassing. but nowdays, those modern slrs very very easy to load film, just roll out abit, place abit on the spindle, then close can liao. the manual ones like the nikon FE FM series needed to be inserted into the spindle, then have to take a few blank shots first. maybe you should try it one day, at least know how to do it.

i remembered when i had my film slr, ever shot meant $$ cause need $$ to develop pictures.
so every shot meant a proper composure , proper angle etc, so as not to waste the film.
after using DSLR, i just shoot and shoot and forgot all about it, and just heck, can just delete!
i think its time to get a film body and start appreciating the film again, to learn to appreciate and that each shot you take , is a work of art, a work of money and most importantly, a work of time

Yeah man!! Those Sony duno what cam used the 1.44 floppy!!! The quality was very good for that time!! Can beat even some of the compacts now... then it was really about quality and not squeezing in high megapixels for now.
But quite sian to change the floppy after like 10+ shots when used at higest res...
Then NAND/NOR flash technology changed all that over the years...

Can't rem that, but yeah, I learnt Photoshop in army! Didn't know a stray arrow that struck me could have been so useful to me.
And you know, just 7 yrs ago, the cost of developing a digital photo was 50 cents.
The cost of developing that digital photo still hasn't come down by all the much despite it having been 7 years :bsmilie:
swampthing: the kids your housemate ran into must be really young. Say probably younger than 10? I still find it quite hard to believe that anyone older than that have never seen/used a film camera before (by this i mean to include your disposal kodaks and what have you).
