Guns make it Easier for People to kill People....

This kind of tragedy happened time after time. US has to do something about gun ownership else this won't be the last.

No US politician would even dare to touch this topic with a 10 foot pole... a big part of US identity is in the Right To Bear Arm.... any suggestion to control gun and you'll get more sh*t than our Ruling Party in HWZ's EDMW section....

Indeed.

It is very important that the rights of the American people to bear arms are respected.

Yes, just hand over a toy gun to an innocent XMM model and see how naturally the index finger got go into the trigger.

Or seat a young teen on a driver seat and a devil's voice says, 'just step on the accelerator , it will be FUN...'

Or give an immature young boy the rank of lieutenant in the army and he will *really* think he has the powess and respect of a leader (out of that uniform) and go around punishing people.

Put a sword into a LOTR fan's hands and he will naturally swing it for fun, slicing air or heads.

The key point is, anyone can kill anyone with a pencil or a rock, but the difference with firearms is the ease of use, the temptation of use, the speed of fatality within seconds, the magnitude of damage and the irreversibility of it.

What do most gun owners accomplished by owning guns? - Perhaps a gun hobby, possible defences against wild animals, criminals, and exercising their rights.

One guy tries to use a shoe bomb = Everyone at the airport takes their shoes off. 31 school shootings since Columbine = no changes.

There are parts of the US that prefer to fight violence with violence. So until the US population can change their attitudes and demonstrate that they want a change in the constitution, the world sits and waits for the next shoot out....

A case of lesson never learn.....compared this to terror hunting effort....until the whole America being torn a part......or blame it on fps like doom and cs where u walk around a compound and shoot anything on sight.....it's very easy to have this illusions if u are on the computer screen for too long....I better log off now and go and do my need of speed....

The US NRA is too powerful and US politicians are afraid of it. The NRA affect the votes.
The NRA donates much money to politicians they like and endorse those to their NRA members to vote for.
Some say Al Gore lost narrowly to Bush in 2000 because Al Gore was in favour of gun control. The NRA mobilised against him.

James Cavanaugh, former ATF special agent in charge in Nashville said: "The thing that really, really, really scared the Democrats was Al Gore losing his home state, and the reason was the gun issue. They all know it."

There are crackos, sociopaths, and psychpaths in US society, just like anywhere else.

The difference is that in US, they have easy access to guns, assault rifles and live rounds.
In the previous Colorado cinema shooting, the gunman was able to buy 6,000 live rounds for his assault rifle legally.

The original 2nd amendment used to state "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Too bad some smart judge got rid of the militia part. What I don't understand is how they can allow assault rifles to be within the scope of allowed weapons for an average joe to buy and use.

not true assault weapons in the sense of auto mode. only single shot triggers allowed .

Home modification after purchase.

James T said :"Actually, Trevor, you are showing your lack of gun knowledge. What Rusty said is true. Even a Glock can be EASILY converted to full auto by anyone, with a simple conversion kit in less than a minute, by changing out the slide plate. Then the Glock will fire about 1200 rounds per minute. Look it up on the ATF website if you don't believe it. And there is a switch for full auto or semi auto. I don't hear anyone wanting to ban Glocks."
