Thanks...still learning how to make the best of the cam...shooting in RAW really made a difference.

anyone knows if any harvey horman/courts outlet carry GR II? thx..

Not sure if you guys have updated the firmware yet, but the new v2.20 firmware has some really nice improvements like variable focusing points in all modes and auto exposure override in manual mode.

These small improvements really bring back the joy of photography for the geek in me : P

Playing around in macro mode just for fun with my Q-steer micro boomerang :)

how mich is this GR D II ah?
i am comparing to the ricoh r8 too
with a budget of 600$ max
looking at samsung nv100
and this R8

Retail price: $1199
From retailers: $1000+

Can anyone tell me what so gd abt GRDII? Becuz I compare the specification, It's not as gd as panasonic LX3. Why is it selling at those stunning prices? S$1200 (Sold recently at Harvey Norman - JP) and LX3, near to S$700.
S$1200 can buy a DSLR, but the sensor is juz 1/1.7" (correct me if i'm wrong), and not even a 4/3 size.
So other then the size compare to entry-level DSLR... I see no pro side of this GRDII.

theres just something rather magical about this little thing...u'll either love it or hate....

what is it?:dunno: I'm juz curious to know cuz my M'sian friend, who came back frm Taiwan studying, keep asking for GRDII. But she din mention abt the gd pt also... But i know Taiwanese r into Ricoh

Get the GRD2. I own a GX100 before. Sold it away due to crappy design of the lens closure area.

GRD2 allows you to retract the lens behind a automatic blade to protect the lens.

GX100 cant do that. You need to put a lens cap on it. The cap is quite loose in my opinion.

You can buy the retractable Ricoh lens cap LC-1 for the GX100, and it will get the same auto-lens cover treatment (at a cost).
