Focusing in A80

Hiy'all,
I have my A80 for just a week now. My current problem (well not really a problem, :embrass: just anxious) how can i have focused an object not in the center of the frame. Sure A80 have AiAF feature, but it looks like automatically set by camera, so i cannot manually pick my focus spot. In other hand, disabling the AiAF feature only limit the focus spot in the center of the frame.
I really appreciate any advice from SNAP'ers.

1. Turn off AiAF
2. Aim the centre AF frame to the subject you want to focus
3. Half-press the shutter; A80 will focus and lock the focus (aka AF-L)
4. Re-compose while still holding the shutter half-pressed
5. Fully press the shutter to fire!
