Extension tubes.. Manual or Auto?

Manual extension tube is a pain, why don't you get a Raynox filter and snap it on your lens and start shooting.

No need to remove lens

Yeah tot it's a pain too.
Since I've got a AF 60mm Micro I tot I'll just try a cheaper manual ET for testing.
Haha good things don't come cheap.

Indeed those older gen lenses with aperture rings are much easier to use with manual ET.
I can't figure out how to use it on my 35mm f/1.8 DX lens. Read up somewhere to hold DOF button while dismounting, but when I twist the lens the aperture will also turn aperture blades back to default f/22.

You use Nikon, what you read was about Canon lenses.

Oh ok didn't notice the thread group when I do a search on ET.
I see if I can find out how Nikon works.

AFAIK, G lenses can only be controlled by the camera body. For all other lenses (with Aperture ring) you can adjust the Aperture freely by turning ring. The position behind f/22 (orange mark) is to tell the lens that the body will control aperture.
Nikonians: feel free to correct me.

Yes u are right in the description for lens with aperture ring.
AFAIK?

Thanks for the link!
