Experiences with the new K-3 Camera (Lots of Photos)

I have some other photos which I haven't got chance to look at them yet. Will do so when time comes.

From what I've experienced so far, I'd say for most users this can be the ultimate camera, and the final camera you ever need. There are so many other improvement or features I can't cover, the best way to find out is to get the camera yourself :)

maestro FW, TQVM for your labour of love in this photo essay-truly it'll be my ultimate camera.
silver or black depending on my boss' announcement of the quantum of my CNY blessings in mid-January 2014:D:bigeyes:..

Thanks Henry. You'd love the camera when you got one :)

More photos and review with FA lens Please !!

Thanks for the hands on review.

Just managed to try out the K3 yesterday.
LV response is impressive for a dslr.

Very nice Review.. Can't wait to see your Zoo's photos.... :)

managed to handle a k3 over the weekend..cant comment much on the cam since i only hold it for awhile but the AF seem fast enough and the build is really solid..i think the body can really stand some abuse given its build quality..

FW, any new updates with your K3? And also, together with the DA20-40.. hee

This is one hack of a camera. Tried it when i was at Tokyo last week at Bic camera store. Response was quick and decisive with DA18-135. Any samples with the FA31 :)

at high iso, the pictures are still acceptable to me so i think i would have no worries about using up to iso 6400..as a ambience light shooter (aka i know nuts about using flash), the iso performance of k3 is a godsend to me...did not have any chance to use it at iso 12,800..maybe will take a test shot soon and post..

somemore iso 3200 shots..all are taken in raw but no noise reduction was done in pp..only adjust WB and exposure

some high iso shots to share for all who are interested..

all are shot on raw and convert to jpeg with adjustment to exposure and WB..not a true test of high iso as exposure was adjusted during pp..but i think its a fair representation of real life shooting (at least my style) to make fine adjustment to exposure in pp

iso 6400

coming from a k01 background which uses the same sensor as k5/k5ii/k5iis..i think k3 iso performance is about a stop or so better than k01..previously on k01..i will limit to iso 6400 as i think that anything higher will be too grainy and mushy to post online..for k3..i think i will go up to iso 12800 and 25600 as a last resort..51200 is really not suitable even for online posting...

in case anyone is interested..here is iso 6400 by k01..

k01 iso 6400

Sharing my experience of K3 on the capturing speed and the writing speed.

With 8.3fps I'm able to capture more shots than K5/K5-IIs, not only the number of shots increases, I'm also able to fire conitunuosly for many seconds, this is not possible with K5/K5-IIs, half way there K5/K5-IIs will start to "cough" as the smaller buffer is used up.

After firing for several seconds, I'm able to view almost instantly, there's no lag and no blinking led (transfering from buffer to sd card), everything is so smooth, I've no worry for the next series of action shots to capture, thanks to the UHS-1 speed. :)
*I'm using Sandisk Extreme Pro (95Mb/sec)

Just to note, must get the Extreme Pro, because the K3 can take advantage of it. Also, if you write to both cards for redundancy purposes like I do, then there will be lag. I got 2 x 32 GB Extreme (Read: 80MB/s, Write I think 60MB/s) and my results seem to be slower than what others have experienced with Extreme Pro (still got lag but shorter).
