patience guys, the new DSLR would come soon in just a few more days!:bsmilie:

A few more day? How many days? :bsmilie:

The market needs a E-XX mid level cam and a E-X flagship more than a E400. Unless OM want to quit from pro/semi-pro market.

EIGHT more days!!!! :(

Some insider...please leak some juicy stuff out...

Why not giving the facts?

http://www.olympus.co.uk/consumer/dslr_E-400_Specifications.htm

According to that, in some respect it is just a downgraded E-500 with a higher resolution (possibly better) sensor. Sequential shooting for example is no more unlimited speed like in the E-500. Flash is only GN10 while the E-500 has GN13. The TIFF format is left out all together and it is only USB 1.1.

I wonder what Oly engineers are doing? Just hope the E-X (my guess is still E-5) will beat all existing E-system cameras by far. Otherwise I think soon Oly is also a goner like Minolta. I expected the E-400 to beat E-500 in almost all aspects, not only the MP. ISO is still limited to 1600 also. No word about grip or cable release and so on...

:thumbsd: Just my 5c.

BTW, Photokina is at the end of September, so we have to wait a few more days for a final verdict on Oly's future. I think the E-400 is a looser unless it is really really cheap.

It's meant as an entry level maybe? To rival against Pentax *ist DL, maybe at a lower price than E-500?

here's another preview (in Polish) with samples: http://fotal.pl/artykul/Test_handson_lustrzanki_Olympus_E400_doc12753.html?page=2

i still feel the kit lenses r not doing it any justice, there's too much CA in the samples. when that happens, there's no real advantage of owning "digitally specific" lenses. (not what i'm used to with my 14-54mm anyway)
