D400 anyone?

the D3200, if it's coming soon, will probably get a 16MP sensor upgrade... don't think Nikon would put a higher MP sensor on their entry level DX than their mid range DX pair... the D40/D60/D3k series has so far always lagged or at most matched the MP of the mid range DX cameras... and the D400 will probably get the Sony 24MP sensor, if going by previous Nikon/Sony practice...

a new, lower end FX?... unlikely... if they wanted to, Nikon can always cut the price of the D700 some more... and if they finally retire the D3s, they can continue to squeeze some more cash out of the D3s' sensor design, put it in a D700 body, and give us a D700s...

I could be wrong of course, but going by Nikon's track record, that's how I call it... of course, they might yet surprise us :)

Yeah. Even the upcoming D3200 is rumored to have 24MP.

That's more mega pixel than anything in the Nikon lineup except for the D800 and the D3x.

I feel that d3100 and d5100 are not successful as d90, why bother to produce d3200? What is the next upgrade of d90?

I think should be no more D90 in lineup.
Cause the D90 already replacement by D7000.

So you can see the current list.

D3xxxx
D5xxxx
D7xxxx
D300 or upcoming D400
D700 now D800
D4 now.

You are wrong. 3100 and 5100 are top sellers in Europe and USA.

These dSLRs (3100, 5100) easily outsell the D90 in every region, including Japan and the USA.

The D7000 is sort of in between the D90 and D300s. D90 is still in production; it is not discontinued.

Can celebrate its 4 year old birthday

Sadly.... Nikon released a D3200 yesterday....... If so, will there really be a D400? The highest record of new released Dslr within a year is only 4 units. So will there really be a D400?????

I hope it's released next year so that I can upgrade without feeling too guilty. :D

There's two more DX camera releasing this yr, D7000 is in line for a renew, the other will likely be D400.

Should be same as or higher MP,
The feature all same like D7k or D800 but still in DX mode, faster PF, higher ISO & 22MP.
Cause the D7000 just slightly small body and not comfortable to holding the small body in bigger size of lens.

That is what I guess.

Plus bonus to announce the AF-S 18 or 20, 24mm F1.8 in DX or FX lens as well.

For once I should go with my head rather than the heart. Expensive the other way around. ;)

Ya, but I prefer a D8000, the in-between one.

Problem here is that the Nikon plant is not able to keep up with the demand.

Just look at D800, people are still waiting for it.
