there's a limit to lcd resolution its normal

The maximum you can zoom is more than 100% so it will look pixelated. If you unzoom 2 steps (I think) down, it should be ok.

there's nothing wrong with your lcd. furthermore, the sharpness of the pixelation in your lcd is a very good gauge of sharpness of the image (and the lens).

yes. The only lenses that do not meter with D40 (and D80, D70 and D50) are AI-s and Ai-P lenses.

Hi Kusanagi97,

D40 is my 1st DSLR as well, and it is made in Thailand too. I bought it during COMEX (Sgpr) Jan/Feb 2007, bcz my pocket camera wasnt good enuf. And now, I am happy with my D40 :heart:

I am just a newbie also, so you can see some pics I took with my D40 (even it is still very standard! D40 with 18-55mm).

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie in DSLR and have been using point and shoot camera for couple of years already. But I've been tired of getting lousy photos in warm light indoor environment where image goes blur with slight movement in subject. I've been trying to get second hand Nikon D40 camera with good lens. My budget is around SGD650 - 900. Could anyone advice me what type of lens i should choose and where I should look for second hand Nikon D40 camera?
