D30 and the 540EZ

Can't get my 540EZ to fire on the D30 in ATTL mode. It only works in Manual... no problems with it working on my EOS30.

Tried a 420EX on the D30 and it worked fine.

Anyone knows why? Is there some setting I missed??

d30/60 only ettl

All canon digital SLR can only do ETTL. Cannot do ATTL. I think you have to change your flash system.

TTL Only compatible with EX series!



Oh no... I have to get a 550EX?!

Yup! Or other third party ETTL flash units. But I think your 420EX will do just fine.

that's one of the reasons why there are so many 540EZ lying around in the displays at TCW

LOL I think no one seriously looks at the displays? I saw a ef500 lying there for the umpteenth time and finally asked the price... wow it's marginally more ex than the 380EX available on this forum... and it's <1 year old...
