lol i see if can find you from my window..

hey guys, was eyeing the benro carbon mc-63 n6 monopod. specs are:

MC-63 n6
Leg Sections:4-sec
Max. Height (mm/in.):1460 / 57.5
Normal Height (mm/in.):465 / 18.3
Weight (kg/lbs.):0.33 / 0.73
Max. Load (kg/lbs.):4.0 / 8.8

anyway, what are the options for a monopod? i can't seem to find info regarding uick release plates and adapters etc. and all the compatibility issues are confusing me. are any of you guys familiar with the technical jargon? need help and thanks! =p

edit: also, what's with the max height? 146cm seems pretty short for a monopod. does that mean i can't use it while standing?

yea sorry.. most of us or in fact all that i have met before either have a tripod or not.. no point for monopod.. a reasonable monopod can cost up to 80 bucks or more.. but a benro tripod that i have cos 85 and i must say its more than worth it.. very light(sometimes i carry it ard and get scared that i lost it as i forgot abt it even being there.) and also its stable.. not like those steinzer ones that ppl breathe out only the thing shake like hell.. hahha

edit: i forgot to add its also a ballhead one.. not the other one where both hand must adjust the tripod.

understand you bro, but i was thinking i don't need the stability of a tripod, just something to allow me to shoot at longer focal lengths. shall try around first ;) thanks anyway!

how'd you manage to take those pictures then? a hand rest of sorts?

If you want to do night photography or even for long exposure, tripod is a must.

Even with a monopod, it is still not that stable enough. I have a monopod but it only goes out with me once in a blue moon when I shoot events if I want to achieve aerial views shots and sports photography to support the heavy lenses. Other than that, I will lug my tripod for night shoots, sunsets, fireworks etc.

a monopod is never a replacement for a tripod. anyway i find it very inconvenient to use a monpod.

Just to add, technically, a tripod can act as a monopod. Just release one of the leg. ;)

hahha.. yea true.. i do that sometimes.. anyway.. my tripod is the benro A150x(i think) not with me now.. i believe cakka and a few also have bought that one and serve us well..

anyway to kelvinsg, what F number were you using for your shots? you shd use F16 or more.. it will make the lamp and the reflection have a sharp star effect instead of that glow..

Hello bros, I a bit lost liao... if I want to post photo..which thread should I post ah ?
Anybody know about the APAD thing ? Must I post the photo strictly taken on the same day ? Or can I post past photo?

anyway, im jobless now so to stop spending i have suddenly grown interest in the sunrise/sunset and sleep in between the times so i dont go out spending much.. LOL..just some TCSS to share a pic of a sunset in a neighbourhood..and to start the engines rolling again.it doesnt look like sunset cos its still abt 45 mins early but this caugh my eye! haha
