Kicking off the Chinatown Chinese New Year 2013 celebrations is the Official Light-Up and Opening Ceremony. Against a dynamic and hi-tech stage, be entertained by the awe-inspiring staging visual effects and the spectacular live performances choreographed by multi award-winning Choreographer, Mr Zhao Bo Jun (赵柏钧). Vivid animations and special effects will complement the musical comprising skits, songs, dance, acrobatic performances and martial arts performed by over 300 performers from 10 Singapore and overseas performing troupes from Malaysia and China.
The 3 performing spots along New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street including the main stage area between Temple Street and Pagoda Street will see the musical unfurl with a narrative charting the exotic adventures of 2 snakes as they journey around the world before arriving in Chinatown. The celebration will culminate in the live firing of fire crackers accentuated by colourful display of fireworks.

Just take note of the areas closed to public. If i am not wrong, might want to check if your constitiency PA members are involved as they might have extra tickets for the seated areas. Got goodie bag and just about free flow of free beer if i remember correctly.
