canon g6 hoverflies

This is from a canon g6 (supermacro mode) no flash, ASA 200
shutter at 1/100. I used 100% crop. All shots hand held.
The camera focused quickly. However shutter lag due to
re-focus makes this kind of shots very difficult with a POS
type of camera.

you must rely on the LCD all the time.

To me the photos appear very grainy.. :think: compared
to a 6 MP D70. below Same ASA200 same shutter speed.

Anyway I returned the camera and will be looking forward
to trying out the big brother tomorrow.

i think the g6 may not have improved upon the g5 in the noise region. the g5 was practically useless above above 50iso.the d70 shot looks great. btw sold my g5 and am now using the d70. but the g5 is an awfully nice and compact 'carry around anywhere' kind of camera, compared to the d70.

you can't compare p&s cams with DLSR due to the difference in sensor size.
