ur question can be answered w a little common sense...
obviously u can't extend the warranty AFTER it expire, if not everyone who has fault w camera after expiry date just go extend n get free service
and if really can extend, then obviously MUST PAY lah? :what:
as for the last question i don't know the cost, but i do know that u can bring down to the service centre to have an evalutation on the cost then decide to go ahead w the repairs or not

fyi, you can extend the warranty.
of cause i know must pay, but my question is how "much" , thats the question. fyi, i just asked the CSS, can be extended, but of cause there will be "payments" .

i dont think you can extend the warranty after it expired ...
ya u pay for the repair then have 3 month warranty ...
you can extend the warranty ONLY if u still have the original warranty left when purchase ...
if not wrong shld be more than 1 month warranty left then can extend the warranty
If I were Canon/Nikon, I will ask the customer with an expired and broken camera to first pay for the repairs on whatever is faulty and have a full check up before offering him to start the extended warranty. Not sure if in reality will Canon/Nikon do it or not. But it definitely make good business sense.

canon cant be done... i was at the service centre when a lady asked to extend her warranty after her DSLR expired for a month which the CSO over there rejected her immediately.
fyi, her DSLR internal sensor was being chipped off mentioned by the way
