Have to agree. I am using a N82 myself. wife using N95, not even close to matching.
I personally won't buy a camera phone with those crappy LED for flash, but lets not kid ourselves, the CHEAPEST
PnS will always shoot better quality pics than then 4 digit camera phone.
I know what phone manufacturers always want to claim. The fact is, a phone is a phone, a camera is a camera. I shoot with my camera phone when I don't have a camera. Otherwise, if you want good shots, there's no reason why u can't take along a small PnS for that purpose, or lug the dSLR with ya.
As for those 8MP new models, well.....they are priced enuff to buy a EOS 450D, so u have to be really stupid to spend good and decent money like tat for crappy shots, compared to what a Nikon or Canon can deliver. EOS 1000D is under 1k category, so if u sign a say....N96 w/o contract at around 1098....does it not make sense to get a dSLR?
One might argue I'd use a camera PHONE more often than a dSLR. No arguement, but are u SHOOTING more or USING your phone more. cos a cheapo $99 handphone can also can, and probably have more battery life than you by twice. Before I left Motorola, we were manufacturing B/W basic models that sells like US$30 with batt life over 30 DAYS. Now, all those N series, and WM models, you probably have to charge every 24-36hrs, which means, your battery won't last beyond 600 cycles.
