Took some lens shot of my lens.
Used additional standing lamp for lighting the side.
my walkabout lens.

woah dude, you might want to watch out for the hazey reflections on the front of the lens and the bodies of the lens. you might want to consider removing the filters, too. most people would want to see the coating of the lens ya?
for the most part, the angles you set for the camera and products don't really do much for the lenses. e.g the 2nd shot. if you want to go for a really frontal straight on, watch out for the back of the lens peeking out at the top.
sorry if i sound kaypoh
i am thinking, perhaps the "expert" has got it right in the book, but you somewhat executed it differently lol.Tks. the reflections I shoot at the angel, when my flash can bounce it off. show the colour of the lens.
more effect than just the plain boring look. the angle I set is from a book I got.
seem like the expert got it wrong too.. hahaha..! Yup, tks for the tip on back of lens peeking.
I used two set of lights, one from my living room, and extra side standing lamp to light the left. My external flash, bounce from the right. Lesser of a shadow.

just curious to know, what exactly did it say about setting 'the angle'?
that mean's i've been tricked!! good one :bsmilie:Its exactly the same.
so this is a trick post.
testing to see if ppl just comments to criticize or constructive comment. haha..
Let me go back n scan the pic. keke..
not to pour cold water, but i think you've made one more own mistake.find out my own mistake is, tend to use too much DOF..
keke.. can't help it when i am using the prime 50mm to take these shots.
hey bwilly, do state when you do not want C&C,then no one will give them.
Everybody's idea of "nice" is different, what's in a book is not necessarily everyone's cup of tea. Not to mention the angle of an object is not the only defining characteristic of a photograph, there's also lighting angle, DoF and stuff like that.
I do believe stereobox has given constructive comments.
er..you're welcome, dude? :dunno:Its ok, C&C is fine with me. One man cup of tea, is another guy poison.
I went for a course recently, even the lecturer who has won a few international awards, and the pic that he was showing us was being commented such and such by one of the student. Eventually he had to tell the student "well, this photo has been used a few times by magazines, so I don't see if its wrong to me."
Can see that you can't please everyone from there. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I do appreciate people giving comments, like what you see wrongly, how to do it better.
Rather - oh.. its just do not look good to me.
N pls read carefully what I posted after stereobox comments. I thanked him at least twice for constructive comment. Whereas you go crapping abt tis n tat which just to me, yeah, you wanted to make a presence here.
yea, stereobox, I have nothing against u, I do appreciate good constructive comments that are coming forth.
I also do not need people to show me they can take better pics than me or have much better works to C&C. I am passed that stage.
