Camera for Family Use

Hi there, newbie here looking for a camera for family use (means general use, once in a while, blah blah blah)

Budget: Around S$600
Prefer brand: Canon, Nikon (any other recommendation?)
Weight/Size: Reasonably light

Any suggestions?

wanna give us more info abt wat u want from the camera? like, roughly how big it is, how many MP.

at least 4MP and no bigger than Canon A75.

Anyway, what is the hottest model of Canon/Nikon in the range of 600 bucks?

hmm.. hafta check the local stores. probably go to best denki to check d prices. or better still, go to Cathay Photo.

since u mentioned a75, y not take a look at canon a95? or canon ixus series? i'm a nikon supporter but i wont really recommend nikon dgcam. not the lower end ones.

maybe panasonic lumix dmc-fx8? or the new olympus stylus verve digital S.

if u hav decided on d brand & model of d camera, u may 1 2 wait for Comex on d 1st of Sep 2 buy. mayb can get stuff like spare batt or memory card, etc...:cheers:
