buying lenses in Japan

Hi guys, my father might be going to Japan at the end of the year, i was wondering would it be worth it to get him to buy a lens for me? or should i get online and have it delivered to his hotel?

woah, end of the year is a long time away man. i would think that many things would have happened, new stuff would probably have come out and prices would change pretty much. i suggest you wait till the date nears and then consider.

i'll be travelling to Japan in about 2 weeks.. wonder if the stuff there is cheaper? am looking to buy an 85mm 1.8 and possibly a new body maybe 5d mkII if budget permits.. haha

i juz came back from tokyo few weeks ago, due to the high exchange rate,its almost impossible to get cheaper stuff nw, maybe can try seach here
