Built-in Flash won't fire light

Hi,

My camera is 450D and I'm trying to use the built-in flash. The flash will pop out and the viewer will also display the flash sign. But still there is no light when i take pictures. I have tried it using Portrait & P Mode. I have full battery & the built-in flash is enable in the menu settings.

Doesn't sound right, perhaps posting in the Canon sub forum will get better response.

Switch to manual mode, press the manual flash pop up button. Take a picture.

If at this junction, it still won't fire, get it to CSC....
