nikon is losing lots of market shares to the mirrorless camera, so the next major announcement should be nikon's answer to it. so no new DSLR sadly.

They should make more colors, blue, green, orange, purple. Just like the fotopro travel tripods. :)

actually how much bigger is the D3100 when compared to a mirrorless camera?
It's probably not the "big"ness but the "plum"-looking body... Come to think about it, might as well ripped the mirror off the D3100, replace the OVF with EVF, relabel the body to ML3100 and call it new Nikon Mirrorless!... WhOoT! A 1.5 sensor to boot too! :bsmilie:

Bloomberg says the big two are losing out much potential sales on the mirrorless market. Nice to know Nikon is joining the fray though abeit late. But with their financial clout they probably will not waste time catching up.

NR mentioned 3 potential mirrorless lenses. Interesting

"Nikon understands that some article appeared in the media regarding Nikon’s imaging product. Please note that Nikon has made no announcement in this regards.”

the mirrorless cam are in a different market segment from the dslr. Nicely filling the niche between the prosumer camera and a full fledge dslr. A need for going light and small with an important option of changing lenses as the occasion need. The mirrorless lenses probably should have pancake type.

Ya, has to be small lenses, otherwise it defeats the purpose of having a compact-sized body. I saw the Nex-C3 with 18-55
