your photo can be even better by cropping the bottom layer. see below:

yup. since your picture filename is leaves are gone... should show minimal leaves as possible.

u may also want to shoot this in color then learn how to convert to b/w using a photo editor (like cs4, lightroom), so that the b/w photo will gives more impact (in terms of tones)
 

I like the third picture, it has this mysterious feeling to it. xD

Haha.. i didn't really help too much.. ^^

As what other have mentioned about your photo. crop away the left hand corner as much as possible. Or if possible try another angle.. ^^
