Pre-order from DDE then. I think they will likely be the first stall in sg that has D800.

DDE is expensive considering they don't provide warranty. Wouldn't deal with them.

They do provide one year shop warranty. Just not the local distributor type. And even if it's no warranty, it's not much diff from buying from overseas. The shipping back for repair alone might warrant a purchase from DDE instead.

And I just noticed your said previously that no warranty is of no issue ^^"
Anyway, the premium they charged is for early adoption. if you don't feel like paying, you have to join in the queue with the rest of us.

Cheers

Any news about the release in Singapore yet?

Back den how long did D700 takes to reach our shore? Anyone know?

D800 is expected to reach Singapore on 22 March 2012 or end of March.

Depending on the shipping, Logistic and Custom.

The price is hovering about $3600 to $3800

I tried to ask my source if Nikon is holding a event to launch this in Sg.

This is good news

How do you know? If that's true, I'm preparing to take leave for it's launch.

how best to get a set during launch???

I am going overseas in early April. I called the regular shops and they all say the waiting list is very very long.

Any updates? =D

Paris Silk advertised yesterday for 'pre-order' for D800 & D4.

Some folks very pissed that their expensive PC lens cannot be used on the D800.

That has been debunked.

Any hope for T/S lenses with the D800?: Nikon D3 - D1 / D700 Forum: Digital Photography Review

M (with electronic rangefinder)

The 24 PC-E will work fine on the D800, but you need to manually meter, eg. use the histogram. What is not compatible is rangefinder focus confirm, and metering other than spot, when the lens is tilted or shifted.
