advice on photographing a bacteria plate

hi all,

i was wondering if there is any one in here whom as photographed a
bacteria plate/petri dishes before?
i do see some professional quality photos in stock images site.
these are obtain using photography methods.

A friend of mine was saying it more towards photographing a product. was wondering to seek some advice if possible.
on what type of setting could i try?

With the lid and parafilm on, it can pose a challenge. I'm not sure if a CPL will help to remove any possible reflections off the lid.

I guess the trick to shoot such subject is to shoot them directly above, any deviation may result in reflections. Also requires an environment with good diffused ambient lighting without a bright light source what will show up in the frame.

A macro/fast lens on tripod will also help to get shallow depth of field and just focus on the agar level and not the lid.

thank you for the tips.. i will try with a tripod and CPL.
probably diffuse the flash light.
