how is the pic quality without IS fr A700 as compare to one with IS fr another canon powershot cam.

btw what is the size of the adaptor? 52mm?

If i'm not mistaken, all powershot compacts do not hv IS, only the Ixus series has. Pic quality wise depends largely on the user - if u got good steady hands, u can get unblurred pics. With IS, the price of the cam also goes up...but IS is definitely a plus feature.

btw...adapter size is 58mm.

Did some surfing moment. It is not on Canon SG webby yet but it is on Canon Eurpoe webby. Presume no available in Spore yet. Will be interesting to see what is the RPP price with IS added. I reckon around $650.

Earliest I reckon wld be Nov06 in SG. If it's 650, it wld be quite a reasonable price as it now includes IS and 7.1MP vs. 6MP.

It wld hv been better, if Canon had included the vari-angle LCD in the A710IS.

I think Canon is going to price it within the range of their competitors who have compact with IS model. Keeping my finger crossed.

no add on as well. Currently having problem looking for adapter for A95. Thinking of adding a polariser filter that all. Also looking for a prosumer for travel.

I got it from AP at SLS ($510nett w/512MB SD normal speed), but that's in late Jun06, so not sure of the stock availability. If not urgent, wait for the A710IS, tho it could be more expensive.

...that's quite a good price for this new 710 with IS! (hah, got a good mind to sell off me 700 for this...:sweat: :sweat: ) I still love this 700 for its features even more than my Fuji F30!!

...$629 is the RRP, so places like MSColor, etc. shld give a better price, like 550 I think.

and yes to ur Q about dates - in Postcard mode, dates are imprinted on photos.
