I hv solution to use that space. Pay me and I'll talk.

How much?

A revamped transportation system. Everyone hv a seat. If you are XXL, you pay more. Space will be fully maximise in the arrangements.

Sounds good?

Dear Anton Casey Junior - These people are poor because according to the rules they may be fined $500 if they enter or remain in a full train. One more thing - don't grow up with your father's lack of empathy for the less fortunate.

Yes. And bacteria on the seats and viruses in the air.

Pinch your nose because if someone farts, you're gonna have a bad time :)

These are Security Rodents, trained to discover explosives and other stuff.
Of course, they are always hungry. So wash your feet and don't drop your lunch box :bsmilie:

I hope they also fine those hogging the priority seat....this is the most effective way to get rid of those acting blur fellas....after all Singapore is a very fine city.

Personal experiences may vary.

1.15 pm on MRT train got 1 Indian man and 1 Filipina woman sit reserved seat, eyes open and refuse to let old Chinese woman sit.
Until someone else a Chinese woman alighted and motioned to old lady to sit in her vacated seat.

24 December 2013
On MRT train at 12.20 pm to Outram. I declined a kind offer by Indian FW sitting in priority seat when he offered it.

Another incident (not recorded date in last qtr of 2013)
Age about 30 plus young and fit Indian FW with luggage sitting in the priority seat, on MRT EW line towards Changi airport, awake and ignore all the elderly folks around him, then close eye pretend to sleep. Wake up again with eyes open for about 5 minutes and pretend to sleep again.
A local Indian man also standing on the train looked at the Indian FW in disgust.

Just tell us: how did you determine whether the person is a foreign worker (FW) or not?

I've also seen many local youths who never give up their seats. Equally disturbing.

And I've seen and heard a China bus captain stand up and shout at the passengers sitting down to give up their seats to the older folk.

Although not as polite, it got the message through

Someone bothered to write to the Straits Times about this in today's paper.

Even the eating on train, once my whole family was eating bento dinner on a Japanese train without causing any mess or problem. Does draconian and ridiculous rules make Singapore a better society?
