but well, every forum i went to only canon users made e biggest ruckus over it. so you cant blame me for stereotyping em.

I use canon. But I in no position to comment on whether it's better or worse than other systems. There are just too many variables. That said, I have never regretted choosing canon nor been tempted to switch camps as canon gear works well for me.

I wasn't trying to 'defend' canon lar, just wanted to make the point that its diff strokes for diff folks, and wasn't referring to any particular system.

Hi all guys, i got my camera.... and the camera which i choosen is........

Pentax K5

Oh thank you bro, thank you very much.... congrats on your new toy....

Why I thank you..... because you prob got the last piece from AP...... and that let me have more time to do more research and not kena the BBB virus.....:rolleyes::sweat:

relax people relax since TS already got his gear we must welcome him to the photography world as hobby but he must understand that sometimes there's a need to... then do if not just tilt the balance and not overspent becoming BBB or LBA slaves hahahaha cheers everyone. Me a newbie too but if you happen to see a guy with headphones and pentax well thats me hope you can gimme a few pointers hahaha

Nobody likes being accused of buying just because they were looking at brands. Realise that if you had phrased it as want to sell away camera as it is too big for me, or too slow for me versus want to sell camera as I do not like holding something that is good only because it's famous

e features is limited yet the camera is priced at a higher margin the iso ctrl is pathetic and i hate using my tripod for even street night shots.

lack of IS means higher price for lens, i hv shaky hands n hence i always hv to pay more for lens w it.

and since u hv no experience usin other brands, u definitely hv no rights to accuse wad others hv said

is that enough?

lets move on. ts oredi gt e best semi pro on paper. lets let him hone his skills frm here on out. cheers

Bro, you are not helping by the way you phrase your message.
It's like I slap you and then say sorry. It doesn't sound sincere that you wanted to "let's move on".
It sounded like die die you must have the last word in.

Sincerity means: "Ok, let's stop bickering. We each have our likes and dislikes about certain brand. To each his own. Let's move on"
Then I'll say "YOU DA MAN!"

For your information, I own a Panny Lumix FZ150 and Olly EP3 and 600D. I don't defend any particular brand. Each producer has its strength and weaknesses.
I buy and use what's best for me and suits me. Panny FZ150 is a great superzoom for holidays. EP3 is a fantastic micro4/3. 600D is a great entry-level (note: the key word here is entry-level) DSLR.
I am eyeing the NEX-7 for my next buy. Diverse enough?

looks like... imo you did not spent your $ wisely.

you may choose not to agree though
to each of his own. happy?

Hi all guys, i got my camera.... and the camera which i choosen is........

*drums rolling~~~*

Pentax K5

I asked salesman to let me try both the A65 and K5 to compare, when i first grabbed the K5 i somehow knew that's gonna be the one i want.
It feels so solid, and there's the weight presence which is not heavy yet gives you a feel that its a tank!!! Yea its a mag alloy body, weather
proof-ed one maybe that's why it made a difference. Played around with both, tried to shoot both and again i like what i see tru the optical viewfinder
of the K5 more. K5 cant shoot like A65 which is capable of 10fps, but at 7fps, the K5 is not any much weaker either, considering the fact i dont need
that insane about of burst rate. Its very fine with me.

Sensor wise its using the same sensor as the D7000 and nex5n, a camera which i previously owned and liked
a lot.

Turning of lens also feels more solid comparing to the A65. In terms of specification wise, A65 may hold the upper hand on paper, but heck!
the K5 feels great on my hands! Comparing the feel with A65, A65 feels like a toy in my hands (no offense just being candid).

Maybe the A77 with a similar built body would feel the same as the K5, but its body alone without lens, is a massive 1.6k++ to 1.7k+ which is way over
my budget. Hence i decided to go along with the K5 even thou it has fixed screen unlike the A65 which has a cool flip out screen. Main reason
i choose the K5 is because it feels so darn good on my hands. Every single buttons are easily reachable with ease without moving much of my thumb,
and the grip is perfect for my hands.

My choice doesn't mean the K5 is superior over A65 nor does it implies superiority of Pentax over the respective Sony. Its just i feel good holding,
pressing, viewing (tru the OVF) and shooting the K5 more. Its just my personal preference of feel..

Got this new set K5 body at AP and got a 2nd hand 18-135mm weather proof lens from a nice guy at CS. Thanks to the seller for good deal.

And once again i have to thank everyone who is here, has been here, gave their 2cents on my thread. Be it i chosen your recommendations or not, still, I
fully appreciate your (you guys) advices. Thank you very much for being really helpful and patient in helping me in making my decision.

Thank you!!! :)

Woohoo! That is a very good camera, I am sure you will have tons of fun with it.

Maybe one of these days we can go shooting together, hahahaha.

And... please close this thread, it had somehow become a brand war...

Glad that u finally gotten yr cam. Pentax is good.

Sorry was away outside testing my cam... Brought the camera manual out with me lol... Ok shall close the thread.

Before I close it just wanna thank everybody again for their advice. Every brand is good, it's just the preference of the individual. Like what rhino bro says, every camera work the way it's supposed to. It's up to the tool bearer to pick his tools according to his needs and preference. Cheers everybody! :)
