    EV and stop

    Hi guys, Is 1.0 EV step the same as one stop? If I compensate +1.0EV, is it the same as I manually set my camera overexpose by 2 dials in F80 (1/2 EV step)? thanks Christoph

    Types of slide films

    Hello tweek, I tried Velvia, it is nice for landscape as what people say. It has very fine grain. Astia for portraiture, I used it outdoor though. The result was avg to good, maybe it was me who couldn't shoot well. Kodak Elitechrome 200, very nice color and natural, though can see the...

    Recommendations for my first film SLR

    Well chaotic, I know it is confusing to choose a system to start with, and many people feel the same way (me too:cool: ). It is very unlikely to change to another system once you are using the system for a long time. I think the best way is to compare different bodies, and see if u like it...

    Recommendations for my first film SLR

    Hi yeppie, I bought my F80 2 months ago, and I am satisfied with the body. It has very good features for it's price. Maybe you want to consider prime lenses if you know what sort of photographic style you'll be doing. I myself have the G lens that comes with the kit (useful range I think)...

    portrait for a friend

    Hi, I myself believe greatly in natural lighting, coz I think the color spectrum range is rich. Also, because I always mess up with flash :( photography so far. hehehe:cool:

    portrait for a friend

    Hi, I have a question (sorry if not related). I shot a roll of Provia 100 for portraiture, with Nikkor 28-80, 3.3-5.6 G. Besides the good color, I found that the detail is extremely high that all blemishes, scars and acnes are easily noticed. How to avoid this kind of problem? Some suggest...

    Hi Excentrique, I wonder how you achieved this "magazine" effect. Care enough to share the camera setting, lighting (flash or not), filter attached and film? Thank you Christoph

    Slide -> Print

    Hi rochkoh, I think the reason is this quoted from ckiang "Magazines use high end drum scanners for slides, so results are very good." I visit national geography online, and there they mention that most of their photographer uses slide as the medium. Check it here ;)
