Thanks for the advice! looks like it will be mostly atmosphere shots then The Tamron should provide significantly better pictures under those lighting conditions compared to the kit lens? Kit lens has a bit more reach though...

Nikon has an official announcement planned for Aug 27 according to the peeps at Dpreview. High chance D90 will be announced then.

I emailed Panasonic Singapore and this was their response, "Tentatively, DMC-LX3 will be available in late August." Was looking to get a DSLR but this one seems real promising. Some of the better sample images out there look really great for a P&S.

Any updates on this? Might be going to HK soon :P

Yah..real soon. Malaysia D80 retail price went down RM700 (~S$300) last week.

Price for D80 body on B&H and Adorama dropped from US$870 to US$800. Hope they reduce the price in Singapore also.

Wah..when is the D300 coming out in Singapore? It's out in KL already - can get for RM5600-5800 (about S$2400-2500).

Is a zoom lens of up to 200mm enough for photos from the breakwater side (near Ubin ferry pier) or is more needed? thanks!
