Show us your picture, it could be also the lack of contrast in your subject, just like you try to focus on a blank white wall, you will set your lens hunting. :)

I always check my lens carefully during my purchase. Hard earned money. Lens are long term investment, I don't recommend play play attitude :nono: unless you got too much money to burn.:bsmilie: You don't want your lens to fail when warranty ends. Repair can be costly. ;p

I think the correct date should be 20th August. All those numbers can be confusing to everyone, even the organiser. I know everyone can register even though the website says registration starts on 7th August. :)

There's really nothing to be ashame about. If you don't agree with the rules, you can choose not to take part. The rules are simple enough, in fact even better since you don't need to edit. Just shoot in jpeg and submit your photo straight from camera. Don't take raw since the organiser...

Since u don't know, then it is at your best interest to del or alter your statement or u might get sued for tarnishing the photographer's image. ;)

There's a winning picture of a little girl looking straight at the camera. I think many people has lots of such pictures in their collections. Maybe it is the name that is behind the picture that matters more. :)

Really, which gossip column did you hear from? Nobody knew who the couple was until recently, even then, she just claim it was her in the picture. She does not even know who the sailor was.

Whatever it is, be ready to be disappointed no matter how good your photos are. Some competitions require usual internal networking and affiliation. Unless the judging process is transparent and points based. You'll find year after year questionable winning photos which no one can explain why...
