    300mm f2.8 L IS

Hello, Anyone know what the price of the EF300mm F2.8 L IS USM is, new? Is the price in the lens price list thread current? I'm currently in Australia, but I have a friend in HK and I'll also be coming home in a month or so. Deciding on whether to buy at home or in HK. If the price difference...

    An odd looking pair...

Stumbled across this pair of tawny frogmouths in one of the local parks... The first time I saw these birds was at an aviary a couple of years ago, and when I went into the exhibit I thought they'd escaped 'coz I couldn't spot a single one. When they're in the right sort of tree, they're...

    1D MKII SD card slot

Hello... not sure if this is a common problem, but I can't seem to insert an SD card into the slot without activating the write-protection lock (the small switch on the left side of the card). It seems the action of sliding the card in pushes the switch to the locked position... Anyone...

Wilsons Promontory (Melbourne), where to find wildlife?

Hello! I'll be going for a short trip to the above (essentially 2 nights 1 day), and I plan to use that time to get some wildlife photography in. Just wondering if anyone here has visited this beautiful place, and knows which trails would be best to go to get wildlife, especially snakes...

    Musk Lorikeet

Musk lorikeet snacking on eucalyptus nectar... As a side comment, I need some advice: how do I avoid blowing out the reds? The rest of the pic seems properly exposed... it's the 3rd time this has happened, it's the reds that lose detail. Using a 20D if thats of any help!

    Pacific Black Ducks

Actually, for these photos, I think the species doesn't really matter... but thats what they are anyway. Critique please! I think my composition could be improved...

    Which camera?

Ok... planning ahead here, some time in the next 12 months, I hope to get either the 1D MK III, or the (rumoured) next in line 1.6xFOVC prosumer DSLR (supposedly the 40D). Price is a consideration, but it's not that important, as buying the more expensive one just means saving up longer...

UFOs! (Help to ID birds please!)

This strange pair of visitors showed up in my garden today. Any clues as to what they are? Couldn't find anything on the net so far.... they kept hanging on to trees in a woodpecker sort of fashion. Pardon the grainy, soft images, these are pretty drastic crops. The birds were roughly...

Iguanas in a bird park?? Anyone help ID?

My gf spied this chap at Jurong Bird Park... It wasn't in any enclosure, it was just basking at the edge of the jungle under the monorail track near the scarlet ibis enclosure. It posed for photos for awhile before lumbering into the undergrowth and off into the jungle. I wonder if it escaped...
