I'm using custom style 1 with sharpness at max, contrast at 2, and 1 for both saturation & colourtone. It depends on what you like and I like my photos to be sharp and vibrant.

I redeemed my canon tripod on the day when I bought my 60D as my old tripod is too filmsy which I gotten it for free when I purchase my 1000D from Courts about a year back. Model: T4-3510, the weight of this tripod should be more than a kg.

I will recommend the 60D as it has a higher FPS, nicer shutter sound than the 600d, larger grip, top LCD, 1/8000 shutter speed, pentaprism instead of a pentamirror, slightly bigger viewfinder coverage at 96% compared to 600d 95%.. The downside will be it is heavier than the 600d, about 160g heavier.
