Just dropped by ... wow, it's really quiet here nowadays.

    Canon PRIVILEGE PURCHASE PROGRAM

Wow... wasn't aware Privilege Purchase is still on. Anyone used it? Is it still 21% off RRP?

How long would you be watching?

I took timelapses myself also cannot stand watching other timelapse footages for more than 10min. Timelapse is like super strong condiment for a dish. By itself, should only presented in small doses. Unless there's a terribly good reason, keep to under 4 or 5 min (about length of a song, at...

    EOS-R FF Mirrorless

Just realized this... EOS R qualifies for CPS membership (previously only 5D and 1D series) https://www.canon-asia.com/cps/singapore/benefits.php

    EOS-R FF Mirrorless

Nothing malicious. It's a known issue with third party lens. Usually solved by disabling lens correction and hopefully an update to the lens firmware (if there's one). You can see it happened previously on the 5D IV here.

    EOS-R FF Mirrorless

I'm getting the impression Canon lens designers had been so constrained designing for EF mount for years that they just went hog wild crazy like unleashed beasts putting out all these holy 5hit! designs. On other hand, can also imagine the designers at Sigma and Laowa getting their pants...

removed photos from DSLR and moved back - Canon DSLR can't recognize photos

They can be quite finicky. For eg, JPGs exported from Lightroom can be read inside my 6D. However, if I take the same photo, change just the date taken in Windows and put back into the camera, it won't be recognised. You have to trial and error to see how tolerant the camera is to any deviation...

    canon 70-200 f4L IS USM

I remember it wasn't that long ago the F4L IS was almost like the sharpest lens in the Canon line up. The reason why there are folks thinking the F4L IS is going to be replaced is that it was strangely left out of the recommended list of lens for the 5Ds(R) Can find the list here...

    Reactions from the other side

Sadly, his stunt seems to be working. Getting interviews left, right and center. Another article debunking his claims. http://www.podniesinski.pl/portal/attention-seeking-kid-keow-wee-loong/ Maybe the whole thing will blow up in his face later.

    Viewing photos at 1:1

First one f/11, 1/125s at 24mm seems okay to me. Second one you are shooting at f/4, 1/500s at 92mm and hence look softer. Why not stop down a bit? If you are referring towards the edges, I suppose is normal for the particular lens? Maybe folks who uses that lens can comment. Though in the...

    Viewing photos at 1:1

It will be much easier if you can put up some 1:1 sample shots (non-edited) and the used settings for folks here to help. There's tonnes of things that could lead to a non sharp photo. :)

Shooting from HDB corridor - overcoming parapet wall and railing

Yep, I did get the surface adapters. Did some testing this evening- not on HDB railing but those green railings used along the roads. Despite the 8cm allowance, trying to clamp to a railing that fat is challenging. Spend almost an hour trying to figure the best way to clamp and so far, no...

    Timelapse in Singapore

Hi, Popular spots will be around Marina Bay, Orchard Road, Chinatown, Clarke Quay, Gardens By The Bay, etc. If you wanna move away from the tourist areas into the residential heartlands, check out the various high-rise HDB blocks. The corridors and staircases can offer promising views but it...

Shooting from HDB corridor - overcoming parapet wall and railing

Just received my RRS Multi-clamp (redesign of the former Safari Clamp) together with the stud for mounting Sirui G20X ballhead. First impression pretty solid design. The mouth (after including the flat surface adapters) opens up to ~8cm wide. Will be testing out to see how well it goes with HDB...

    CANON 200-600MM 4.5-5.6? L-LENS?

If it's Canon's answer to Tamron and Sigma's 150-600, it has to be budget enough. Too cheap and too good performance will also cannibalize sales of the 200-400 w1.4TC. In conclusion, not likely to be "L" grade.

How to achieve this kind of video technique

Me no videographer but I supposed it is using a curve dolly track. Or if you do not need such large radius of rotation, lock one of the dolly wheels and swing the dolly while aiming the camera in the direction of the locked wheel.

How long is the USB cable? Might wanna try those with chokes at both ends for better reliability if your cable is long.

    Question on hyperlapse

My mindset would be the same as shooting photos. Get it right as much as possible during capture stage and hopefully, it will be easier in post. Depending on the scene in use, have tried doing manual stabilizing in post after shooting using tripod. It can still be really tedious to stabilize...

    Lytro exits consumer cam market

For a moment, I had the urge to impulse buy for doing timelapse. Able to do focus ramp in post will be very interesting but sadly apart from one or two samples on the web, there's nothing else. Considering it soon to be EOL status, support and further tool development for processing are also in...
