We visited Hokkaido in feb 6 - 12 this year. It was really freezing! Perhaps we were fortunate to see that many swans :) There was another place called tokachigawa where they have swans too, but can't compare to the beauty of 砂湯.

Would like to share this photo I took in Hokkaido. This lake translated from japanese 砂湯means "Hot Sand Lake". As winter is very cold in Siberia, these beautiful Siberian Swans would fly to Hokkaido during winter. I feel this lake was well named as you can actually see steam...
